Shortly before 11:00-hours on Saturday morning March 26, Eastside BCFD companies were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire at address 1319 North Luzerne Avenue in the Broadway East area of East Baltimore. Engine Co.33 (running Reserve Engine 65) first due from the N Montford Ave Station arrived first in on scene with heavy fire showing from the rear of a vacant end-of-the-group rowhouse. As soon as the 2nd Battalion arrived and took over command, he requested a working fire dispatch followed by a 2nd alarm. Due to unsafe conditions and as a partial collapse had occurred, firefighters were forced to go to exterior operations only. It took nearly two hours for firefighters to bring the blaze under control. No injuries were reported, and the fire's cause is currently under investigation.
