Around 21:30-hours on Saturday evening May 15, westside area BCFD companies were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire in the 1800-block of Ramsay Street in the Carrollton Ridge community of Southwest Baltimore. Engine Co.55 first due (at the time of this fire) from the Pigtown Station on Bush Street arrived in on scene first reporting heavy fire showing from the 1st and 2nd floors of multiple dwellings on the end of the 1800-block of Wilkens Avenue. Just minutes later command requested a working fire. Due to a collapse and dangerous conditions, crews went to working exterior operations only. It took nearly an hour for firefighters to bring the blaze under control. No injuries were reported, and the fire's cause is currently under investigation.
