Shortly after 20:30-hours on Saturday evening May 15, eastside area BCFD companies were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire in the 400-block of N Lakewood Avenue in the McElderry Park community of East Baltimore. Engine Co.51 first due from the N Highland Avenue Station in Elwood Park arrived in on scene first reporting heavy fire showing from the rear of three dwellings on the end of the 400 block of N Glover St. Just minutes later command requested a working fire dispatch followed by a 2nd alarm. It took nearly an hour for firefighters to bring the blaze under control. No injuries were reported, and the fire's cause is currently under investigation.
