Shortly before 18:00-hours on Wednesday evening March 23rd (following the first 2nd alarm on Reisterstown), Westside as well as Eastside BCFD companies were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire at address 1218 West North Avenue in the Druid Heights neighborhood of West Baltimore. Truck Co.16 first due from the McMechen Street Station arrived first in on scene reporting smoke showing from a 3-story vacant middle-of-the-group rowhouse. Again, due to the unstable conditions in this situation command requested all firefighters go exterior operations only and requested the 2nd alarm. It took about an hour for firefighters to bring the blaze under control. One firefighter was treated for minor injuries. The fire's cause is currently under investigation.
