Shortly before 17:00-hours on Tuesday evening November 3, Ambulance 3's crews during shift change out back behind 31 Engine's station in Waverly noticed smoke coming from the area of a house in the 600-block of Montpelier Street. The ambo crews notified Engine 31 immediately. Engine Co.31 went to go investigate the area and found smoke showing from the house at address 605 Montpelier St and requested a full box alarm. The fire had spread to the 3rd-floor of the Side B/C area causing hoarding conditions. Just minutes later command requested a working fire dispatch. It took about 45 minutes for firefighters to bring the blaze under control. No injuries were reported, and the fire's cause is currently under investigation.
