Shortly before 2:00-Hours, inner city fire companies were dispatched for a reported building fire near the southwest corner of W. Fayette Street and Park Avenue in the heart of Downtown Baltimore. Engine 23, Downtown-Steadman's engine company, arrived first due in reporting heavy fire and smoke showing from the rooftop of a 3-story vacant brick building. This building stands next to the historic Brewers Exchange building which had minor extension from the initial fire building. Command immediately requested a working fire be dispatched, followed by a second alarm minutes later. It took nearly an hour and a half for firefighters to bring the blaze under control. No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.
