Around 18:00-hours, Central Baltimore County fire companies were dispatched for a reported vacant restaurant building fire at address 9701 Beaver Dam Road (North side of W Padonia Rd) in the Texas section of Timonium. Engine 17 and Tower 17 from the Texas Firehouse arrived first on scene reporting heavy smoke and fire showing from a 1-story vacant restaurant which was formerly the Macaroni Grill. Command immediately requested a working fire. As conditions worsened, firefighters were forced to evacuate the building and fight it from exterior operations only. A little while later a 2nd alarm was dispatched to the scene. It took firefighters all night into the wee hours of the morning to finally bring the blaze under control. No injuries were reported. The Macaroni Grill had been vacant for about a year now and the cause remains under investigation.
