Shortly after 18:00-hours, northeast fire companies were dispatched for a reported vacant building fire at address 5903 Harford Road in the Hamilton neighborhood. Engine Co.56 arrived first due in reporting heavy smoke showing from side alpha of a large 1-story structure. A few minutes later a working fire assignment was requested followed by a second alarm a little while later.
No injuries were reported. It took about an hour for firefighters to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
