Shortly before 22:00-hours on Thursday evening June 16, Engine Co.14 from the Hollins Street Station "Fort Hollins" was dispatched to the area of the 100-block of North Stockton Street in the Poppleton neighborhood AKA SoWeBo for a report of smoke in the area. As Engine 14 was doing their investigation they came across three 3-story vacant rowhouses with heavy fire showing in the rear of the next block over on N Carrollton Avenue. Engine 14 immediately struck out the box to be filled as well as a working fire dispatch. Due to unsafe conditions and as a partial collapse had occurred, firefighters were forced to go to exterior operations only. It took nearly an hour for firefighters to bring the blaze under control. No injuries were reported, and the fire's cause is currently under investigation.
