At approximately 21:00-hours, north city fire companies were dispatched for a reported warehouse on fire in the area of the Old Clipper Mill Industrial Park in the Woodberry section of North Baltimore. Engine Co.#21 first due from the Hampden "Hon" Firehouse at Roland and Union Avenue arrived in reporting heavy fire and smoke showing from all 3 floors of a large 100x250 3-story brick vacant warehouse. Within 5 minutes command requested a 2nd alarm. Due to the shear size of the building and firefighters going to defensive operations, a 3rd alarm was sounded followed by a 4th alarm nearly another hour later. It took about 7 hours for firefighters to bring the blaze under control into the wee hours of the morning. No injuries were reported. The origin of the cause is under investigation.
