During shift change shortly before 7:00-Hours, South Baltimore City and North Anne Arundel County fire companies were dispatched for a reported large 200x200 warehouse fire fully involved at address 1026 E. Patapsco Avenue in the Brooklyn section of the city. Engine Co.2 "Federal Hill" happened to be the first arriving engine company on scene just after clearing a smaller fire in Curtis Bay's 57 Engine's first due and called in the box alarm reporting heavy fire and smoke showing from a fully involved warehouse building. A second alarm was immediately struck followed by numerousl special calls which eventually hit the equivalent of a four alarm turnout. The building is owned by the textile company Whitehouse & Schapiro LLC., which houses toys, clothing and packing supplies. Firefighters are as of now (midnight of Sept.27th) still on scene hitting hot spots. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
